Cost-friendly Gourmet is the new “Fancy Affair”

Have you ever had that moment after a meal where you wondered to yourself: “Did I really just pay that much for a quinoa salad?” It’s funny how we only acknowledge the price of a food item after we gulp it. That applies even more on healthy eating; when you are finally in the right mindset for avoiding junk, you are put in the toughest spot realizing that in order to be healthy you have to pay three times as much as you normally would. How are we supposed to encourage healthy eating, if it costs most of us a limb or two to eat real food? Unfortunately, that’s healthy food in Amman if not in most of the world!

It is a well known fact that it probably does in fact cost more for restaurants to make “slow-food”, however most of the money we actually pay for is not related to food – fancy packaging, an over-the-top location, and an exquisite service. But why do we not see much of go-to to-go places that are employee-friendly and for people on their feet all the time? We don’t need Turkish linens and luxurious silverware every time we want to grab a bite on our lunch break, just clean healthy food will do that does not necessarily require to be served in a fancy schmancy place. You might think it defeats the purpose, but it really doesn’t.

Cost-friendly Gourmet is now being implemented in one of the most expensive cities like Dubai, which is a bit of a shocker, but if they can do it nobody has an excuse not to - really. Many workaholics today tend to lean towards eating out at cost friendly restaurants in Dubai like “3Fils” and “Akiba Dori” both Asian fusion cuisine galore for the simple reason that it fills your tummies without it necessarily emptying our pockets too much. To whoever started this trend of being considerate towards us working-class citizens, we appreciate you giving these overpriced places a run for their money; lets just hope it starts being applied in restaurants in Amman sometime soon!
