Whether you are trying to get in shape or simply just stay in shape to maintain your weight loss, you can’t just about life like the old days. It takes determination and a good amount of hard work to do that, you’ll eventually feel like your better lifestyle is your new norm and part of your daily routine. Slacking on a lot of things you used to do while on a diet, will let you gain that weight again and easily. Here are a few simple things you can do to get in shape in no time:

  • Drink a lot of water

We always mention this one, because it is actually the most important step whether you’re working towards maintenance or a certain goal. Our bodies are made of 70% water, and the more the water intake your body receives, the merrier for staying in shape. Drinking water every hour is the way to go, and make sure you don’t overdo it and just settle for one glass per hour which is 250 ml.

  • Never skip cardio

No matter your body goals, cardio time is extremely essential to keep your heart rate up and to get your adrenaline up and running for the rest of your workout. This basically helps you get less tired and get more hyped up for the remainder of your session. When your heart rate goes up, your dopamine aka happy hormone is activated which gives you all the excitement you need to keep going. Pair your cardio with a fruit salad, which is the perfect pre workout meal before cardio.

  • Keep it interesting

Your body wants to be entertained, and might actually get bored easily from the same workout every single day and may stop giving you your desired results. Change things up every now and then; introduce new workout styles that are more exciting and your body will thank you!

  • Stretch after every single workout

Your muscles tend to be exhausted after your workouts, and it is very important to give them time and space - literally. Stretching will help boost blood flow to and from your muscles making room for them to breathe and heal faster so that they work their magic and give you the best results. Believe it or not, stretching 15 minutes after a workout can make all the difference.

  • Beauty sleep

It is imperative that your entire body goes into rest mode every single day to be able to repair itself and stay healthy and it can only do that by getting quality sleep. Weight gain and obesity are usually causes of not getting enough sleep; your body needs enough time to digest your food and make the best out of your gym performance.

  • Keep on moving, outside of the gym

To maintain a healthy metabolism and for your muscles to do what they’re meant to, it is important to stay active during times of the day. Take the stairs, park farther than you’d like, and get up from your desk every once in a while for frequent walks. You’ve guessed it, this is why a lot of people stay fit and don’t gain much weight even when they’re not on their diets!
